StartHub Africa Agenda 2033

StartHub Africa’s ten-year target is to provide support to companies with growth potential, leading to 100 companies with annual revenue of $200,000 USD or above by 2033. Only companies that have seen a tenfold increase in monthly revenue compared to when they first joined the StartHub Africa will be counted. This goal was set because it speaks both to a big outreach working with many hundred high potential companies and to the quality of support that StartHub Africa gives to African Startups and Social Enterprises. StartHub believes that supporting many good companies to grow into large and sustainable businesses means larger impact, job creation, and opportunities for development.

Alignment with Sustainable Development Goals

Goal 8: Decent Work & Economic Growth:

Most of the entrepreneurs building large and impactful businesses will have studied at university. Yet, universities have little to no support for students to build innovative and impactful ventures. StartHub has partnerships with 13 universities in East Africa – and growing. This is here building an investable pipeline of great companies has to start. StartHub works with universities to co-create programs, contributes to better entrepreneurship programs in curricula of universities, and helps to operationalize entrepreneurship centres. StartHub works with the private sector to match graduates to jobs by bridging the still massive skills gap through work readiness trainings. Like this, students are supported in large scale to build businesses and create jobs or find decent employment and instantly add value to companies.
Our Tech and Manufacturing Entrepreneurship and Investment Programs further fuels economic growth by supporting innovative ventures in these sectors, facilitating job creation, and stimulating economic development. In this way, we align ourselves with the World Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, striving to promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, while ensuring that all individuals have access to decent work opportunities.

Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals:

StartHub Africa fully embraces Goal 17 within all our consulting work and establishing partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
We collaborate with academia, development agencies, governments, and the private sector in the countries where we operate. These partnerships are instrumental in strengthening the means of implementation and revitalizing the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development.
By working in collaboration with various organizations and entities, we magnify our impact and drive meaningful change that transcends boundaries. This collaborative approach is central to our commitment to advancing the SDGs and creating a more sustainable and equitable future for all.

StartHub Africa’s Agenda 2033 is a commitment to empower and elevate entrepreneurs across Africa. We are not only catalyzing economic growth but also aligning our efforts with the Sustainable Development Goals. Our journey towards 2033 is a testament to our unwavering dedication to creating a better, more prosperous, and sustainable future for the communities we serve.
