In partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP<\/a>), StartHub Africa is proud to have completed an impactful initiative, empowering 138 retailers and market vendors in Nakivale\u2019s New Congo and Rubondo markets, as well as the Oruchinga settlement. This transformative journey focused on equipping these entrepreneurs with essential business skills to enhance their financial management and boost their businesses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the heart of the training was the importance of bookkeeping. By mastering this foundational skill, participants are now equipped to make data-driven decisions and take control of their financial futures. But we didn\u2019t stop there. The program also introduced participants to innovative sales and marketing strategies, enabling them to attract more customers, increase their revenues, and confidently grow their ventures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A highlight of the training was the introduction of the sales funnel, a game-changing concept that showed vendors how to turn potential customers into loyal advocates. Alongside this, participants learned savings and budgeting techniques, providing them with tools to manage their earnings, reinvest in their businesses, and build a sustainable future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program’s real breakthroughs came during personalized one-on-one sessions, where participants received tailored support to refine their bookkeeping practices and develop actionable plans to elevate their businesses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate these achievements, we honoured four exceptional participants with a 1.5M UGX grant and a plaque for their dedication. Additionally, three runners-up were awarded 1M UGX each to support their business growth.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This program has gone beyond teaching skills\u2014it has sparked a ripple effect of change, equipping market vendors to build stronger, more sustainable businesses.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The future looks bright for Nakivale and Oruchinga, and this is just the beginning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
