StartHub, in collaboration with partners, runs the Greenovation project, a six-month virtual program designed to nurture and empower climate action startups across Africa. Launched in September 2023, Greenovation provides a supportive ecosystem for promising ventures like Karaa (Uganda), Yna (Kenya), Dosybikes.com (Egypt), and Africa and People Technologies Ltd among others, to accelerate their growth and impact.

The program’s core is knowledge-sharing, delivered through expert-led online sessions covering the intricacies of building and scaling climate action startups. StartHub facilitates group workshops and personalized one-on-one coaching, leveraging the diverse expertise of our team to equip innovators with practical insights and field-tested experience. To further propel their progress, Greenovation awards targeted grants, enabling these impactful ventures to reach new heights.

The diverse geographical spread of the participants—spanning Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Egypt, and Nigeria in our first cohort—reflects the program’s pan-African reach and commitment to fostering regional climate action collaboration. Greenovation’s success is attributed to the invaluable support of its partners: AfriLabs, UN-Vie, PAUWES, VC4A, UNFCCC, and IDRC expertise and resources bolster the program’s impact.
As we look forward to concluding our first cohort in March 2024, one thing is for sure: Greenovation leaves behind a legacy of empowered startups equipped to revolutionize their respective landscapes. These climate action pioneers are ready to scale their solutions, create lasting impact, and inspire a new generation of environmentally conscious entrepreneurs across Africa.
