How StartHub Internship Works

Internship Program Structure

You’ll go through a work readiness workshop, get matched to a real team, and spend 4 months contributing to actual projects, with mentorship from the people you work alongside every day. Our goal is simple: give you the experience and skills to be productive from day one, in exchange for a real, structured chance to prove what you can do.

We’re enrolling 8 candidates into the program, with 4 spots available in the final internship

TrackSpotsWhat it involves
Projects2Support real project delivery, coordination, and execution. Genuine interest in Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) or data analytics is a plus for one of these two spots, not required
Manufacturing (Social Media)1Support Manufacturing/projects work, with social media and content creation (think TikTok and similar formats)
Financial Services (Accounting)1Support real, client-facing financial services work: financial models, bookkeeping for SMEs, financial management capacity building, and investment readiness

Specific Competencies

Who Can Apply and Eligibility

Fresh graduates, or anyone up to 2 years out of university, interested in Project Management, Social Media Marketing (content creation), or Financial Services/Accounting. We are looking for individuals who are curious, coachable, and ready to do real work, not just observe.

No specific degree is required for Projects, M&E, or social media, we’re looking at competencies over credentials. Financial Services is the exception: a general accounting degree is required, though no specialized SME or investment readiness experience is needed; willingness to learn matters most.

Program Benefits

What’s in the Program

Work Readiness Workshop: Introduction to StartHub, policies, and culture. Core professional skills (communication, presentations, design thinking) plus hands-on, track-specific scenarios.

Genuine growth potential: Strong performers get real consideration for future opportunities. 4 of the 8 enrolled candidates move forward into the full internship on a StartHub team, with a direct mentor. Real project ownership, not busywork.

Meals: Meals during the workshop phase will be provided, and a stipend during the 4-month internship.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can apply? Any graduate, fresh out of university or up to 2 years post-graduation, with an interest in Project Management, Social Media Marketing, or Accounting.

How many people get selected? We enroll 8 candidates into the workshop phase. From there, 4 move forward into the full 4-month internship: 2 for Projects, 1 for Manufacturing (Social Media), 1 for Financial Services (Accounting).

What happens if I’m not selected after the workshop? You’ll get feedback either way. The workshop itself is real experience and a chance to build your network, even if you don’t move forward into the internship.

Do I need a specific degree to apply? For Projects, M&E, and Social Media, we’re looking primarily at your competencies, not your degree. You don’t need to have studied project management or marketing specifically. For Financial Services, a general accounting degree is required, though no prior SME or investment readiness experience is needed, willingness to learn matters most.

Is there a real chance of a full-time job at the end? We can’t guarantee a full-time offer, this depends on performance and what StartHub needs at the time. What we can say is that strong performers get genuine consideration, and our last structured cohort saw all 4 selected interns go on to full-time roles.

Is this a paid internship? Meals are provided during the workshop phase. Selected interns receive a stipend during the 4-month internship.

Can I apply if I’m interested in M&E or data analytics? M&E doesn’t currently have its own dedicated track, but if you’re applying for Projects and also have genuine interest or capability in Monitoring & Evaluation or data analytics, that’s a real plus. One of our two Projects spots may support the M&E team alongside core project work.

Do I need social media experience for the Manufacturing track? Yes. For this specific track, social media skill is a hard requirement, especially content creation (think TikTok and similar formats), not a nice-to-have. A content sample or portfolio link with your application is a strong plus.

What does the Financial Services (Accounting) track actually involve? This is client-facing work, not general internal admin. You’ll support things like building financial models, accounting and bookkeeping for SME clients, financial management capacity building for businesses, and investment readiness support.
