About Human-Centered Design for Refactory

Developed in partnership with the tech sector, Refactory is the industry’s blueprint for hiring developers and runs highly practical education programs to educate the next generation of skilled developers in Uganda. StartHub Africa is a consultant to Refactory and runs quarterly Design-Thinking Trainings. The trainings are two weeks with an engagement of 2 hours every day.

Participants experience the entire Design- Thinking Journey practically and develop tangible prototypes that have been tested with the customers by the end of the training. Solutions regarding every-day problems such as hygiene problems with street food, safety of boda-boda drivers and satisfaction of employees have been developed and tested as well as industry-related challenges such as developing banking products for millennials. The training has been offered in-house as well as online using google-classroom and zoom.
