Online Gig Work Program

The Online Gig Work Program is a pilot project aimed at training and linking 200 youth (refugees and members of host communities) in Kampala and Nakivale to online work opportunities. The project focuses on promoting sustainable income generation and enhancing life skills through digital work.

Additionally, it seeks to increase youth participation in policy-making and social inclusion.

This initiative is part of the larger Connected Learning, Digital Skills, and Microwork (CLDSM) program, a collaborative effort between ILO, UNICEF, and UNHCR in Uganda. The program’s theory of change aims to provide digital skills and connect young people to jobs, and this pilot addresses the final component—linking trained youth to digital employment.
